Today

Today, we talked about this:

They are going into the plane and soon we will be getting off the plane! This picture was taken in 2003, they were little imps. Now one is grown and moved out and the other is about to partake in the biggest adventure of their life.

Oh wait...I am not in that picture! :)

It's getting close and I am getting excited. We have a lot of huge changes coming in our life. Hawaii is not just a different state but similar to a different country, but oh how I love it! I truly believe it is a fantastical adventure!

Girls! and she is mine!

She came into my life unexpected and as a surprise, but never did she cause me trouble. My love, my baby, my daughter! 


I have so much fun with that little girl. She has made me who I am today. I fought and fought for her and us......and eventuality WE made it! 

The love that I feel for that little girl can never be replaced........she is my world and my hope! 

I miss you my love! Thank you for being my daughter, thank you for always loving me!

Strawberry Pie

So I was wandering around the blogs that I follow or lurk as it may be and I read StrawberryCAKE today and she talked about making Strawberry Pie.  As soon as I read it, I knew I was making it tonight! And we did! My 13 year old son and I made four pies. Two with all strawberries and two with strawberries and bananas! (mostly because I love them together.) Great activity and so easy to do with the inexperienced cooks in your life. BOYS gotta learn to cook too!

Cooking up the glaze.....we did a little backwards, but we were hurrying a little so we could watch the Lakers game.

Crusts ready, glaze cooking, we did as StrawberryCAKE said, lined our pie crusts with strawberries and our strawberry/banana pies with the fruit before pouring the glazed fruit over them.

Two down, two to go... Dad said when I emailed to find out if we had enough corn starch "WE SURE DO". We barely got through two and asked where is the other corn starch? "It's in the cupboard in the can" "You mean the can that had less then 1/4 in it?" "Yup"....."Not enough dear".......Luckily, I am married the best man ever and he ran out and got us another can so we could continue with our next two pies, which were strawberry/banana.

I know he looks thrilled, but he says he feels silly smiling for a posed photo. Can't blame the kid, sometimes I do to. Which is why most of our pictures have our family making funny faces or sticking out their tongue..... I am sure there are many sticking out our tongue pictures to come.

Enjoying the fruits of his labor....on his plate he made 5 years ago in Cub Scouts! 

We had such fun and he is so good about finishing his task, although, he did pause the Lakers game so we could finish. And I did have to do the dishes.

Well....been awhile

I was hoping to be better at this....clearly I have failed!

I broke some ribs, tore some cartilage and am now getting better......sob story and funny story to be told at another time...... perhaps a good post for tomorrow.

We are packing to move now. Our house is a mess. I will have to say our packing is the most organized ever......we are nervous, scared and unsettled...our move is not like others... 3100 miles or so across an ocean to a Pacific Island. Don't get me wrong I can not wait to get out of this city and move on with my life! We have been waiting for this jump for a long time and some recent things have pushed us faster then perhaps we would have jumped ourselves. BUT I CAN'T WAIT!!! And now we are on a roll.

I will sorely miss the main land. I will mostly miss MY FRIENDS here. I just think we all have to spread our wings and move through the world as we are meant to. And my meant to: MOVE OUT OF PHOENIX!

I have been attempting to update this blog more then I have been. I have sadly failed. I hope that it becomes an outlet for me without judgment as well as a contact update for my family and friends.

I am estimating our move to the great Big Island no later the the end of July. As mentioned above there are some interesting events that have changed our direction but not our goal.

We have a lot of plans to make...mostly the animals....whew they are harder then the kids!
